Edit PDF Metadata

Read and edit the document info baked into a PDF - title, author, subject, keywords, creator, and producer - then download the updated file. Clear every field in one click to strip identifying metadata before you share a document. It runs in your browser with a JavaScript PDF engine, so the file never leaves your device.

See and edit the hidden document info inside a PDF - title, author, subject, and keywords - or wipe it all before you share the file. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

What this tool does

Upload a PDF and the tool reads its document-information fields - title, author, subject, keywords, creator, and producer. Edit any of them, or use 'Clear all fields' to wipe them, then download a new PDF with your changes. The page content is untouched, only the metadata changes.

Runs entirely in your browser

The PDF is read and rewritten on your own device, so there's no upload and no server. The metadata - which can include your name or the software you used - stays private to your machine, and it works offline once the page has loaded.

When you'd use it

  • Fixing a wrong or missing title so the document shows up correctly in readers and search
  • Stripping author and creator details before sharing a file publicly
  • Adding keywords to make a PDF easier to find
  • Checking what hidden info a PDF is carrying
