Image Color Extractor

Upload an image and get its most prominent colors as a HEX palette you can copy. Useful for matching a brand color, building a theme from a photo, or grabbing the colors from a screenshot. Runs fully in your browser, so the image is never uploaded.

Upload an image and pull out its most-used colors as a palette. Copy any swatch as a HEX value. Everything runs in your browser, so the image is never uploaded.

How it works

Pick an image and the tool samples its pixels, groups them into similar color buckets, and shows the most common ones as swatches. The image is scaled down first so even a large photo processes instantly, and each swatch is the average of the pixels that landed in its bucket so the color reads true rather than blocky.

Getting a useful palette

Use the slider to ask for more or fewer colors. Fewer colors give you the broad strokes (good for a theme), more colors surface accents and gradients. Copy any swatch as a HEX value, or copy the whole palette at once. Photos with a clear subject give cleaner palettes than busy, evenly-colored images.

When you'd use this

  • Matching a brand color you only have as an image
  • Pulling the palette out of a screenshot or illustration
