Count characters as you type. See how your text fits common platform limits like X, Instagram, and meta tags.
Every platform has its own limits. X gives you 280 characters. Instagram captions cap at 2,200. LinkedIn posts stop at 3,000. SMS messages split after 160. Meta titles should stay under 60 characters for search results, and meta descriptions under 160. Going over means your text gets cut off or split in ways you didn't intend.
Paste or type your text and the character count updates instantly. Progress bars show how close you are to each platform's limit. Red means you've gone over. Use it to trim your copy before posting, or to check that your meta tags fit Google's display limits.
Write your message first, then trim. Cut filler words like 'really', 'very', and 'just'. Use contractions. Replace phrases with shorter alternatives ('use' instead of 'utilize', 'about' instead of 'approximately'). For tweets, save a few characters for potential replies or quote tweets.
